Official website reveals motivations of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’s character

The official Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore website has been updated to reveal the motivations of the main characters. The official website revealed the whereabouts of Newt Scamander, Albus Dumbledore, Gerardo Grindelwald, Queenie Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski, Credence/Aurelius, Lally Hicks, Teseu Scamander, Bunty, Aberforth and Yusuf Kama at the beginning of the third film in the series.

NEWT SCAMANDER is known in the wizarding world as the first – and only – magizoologist and also author of the book Fantastic Animals and Where to Live. Formerly happy as a reserved person, caring for his creatures and without choosing sides, he saw firsthand the consequences of Gerardo Grindelwald’s rise to power and knows he can no longer be a casual observer. With the confidence of Albus Dumbledore, he deals with a small but courageous group of wizards and his Muggle friend, Jacob. Newt shows great courage and ingenuity in putting Dumbledore’s plans to stop Grindelwald in action. But even Newt can’t know everything.

TARGET DUMBLEDORE, hogwarts teacher, was once close to Gerardo Grindelwald and knows better than all the dark wizard’s plan to put the wizarding world at war against the non-magical world. Despite his formidable powers, Dumbledore cannot fight Grindelwald directly because of the blood pact between the two. So even though he made the plans, he must leave it up to Newt Scamander and his team to battle in the magical will dispute where the risks couldn’t be greater. Losing could mean the destruction of the magical and muggle world, so the question remains: how long is it possible for Dumbledore to avoid the fight?

GERARDO GRINDELWALD, no longer a fugitive working in the shadows, is systematically destroying all obstacles in his path so that he can have full control of the wizarding world. Cruel but charismatic, Grindelwald has created a growing legion of loyal followers who believe in his message: that wizards are naturally superior to muggles. He thinks no one is powerful enough to stop him – not even Albus Dumbledore, who can’t act against him for reasons only the two of them know.

QUEENIE GOLDSTEIN was a free-spirited witch who fell in love with a Muggle and American baker, Jacob Kowalski, despite the laws of the American witch world against the couple’s romance. Motivated by the desperation to lose her love, she chose to follow Grindelwald, misunderstanding his promise to a different and better world for all witches and wizards. Grindelwald now exploits his powers legilimente, with the ability to read minds. But how much more does Queenie see, is she really telling grindelwald everything she knows?

JACOB KOWALSKI is an American Muggle madly in love with Queenie Goldstein. When she broke her heart by choosing to follow Grindelwald, her whole world fell apart; he has no taste even to take care of his bakery in New York. When being called back to the wizarding world, initially, his reaction is to refuse any connection. But despite his objections, Jacob cannot refuse any chance to find and approach Queenie again. Teaming up again with his best friend, Newt Scamander, this muggle – who always wanted to be a wizard – receives a special gift from Dumbledore that makes him feel truly part of the group.

This young man, once called CREDENCE, is now an acolyte of Gerardo Grindelwald, who gave back his real name, Aurelio Dumbledore – and a wand to direct his powers as a wizard. Grindelwald kept Credence close, preparing him for a special mission, but the magical force known as Obscurus still stirs within Credence, threatening not only his life but that of all those around him.

EULALIE HICKS, known as Lally, is the spell teacher at Ilvermorny, the School of American Witchcraft and Witchcraft and friend of Albus Dumbledore. A brilliant witch, Lally is also brave, resourceful and has no problem telling her what she thinks. She is a great admirer of Newt Scamander’s work and has exchanged correspondence with him since the publication of his book, although this is the first time they have met. She also finds Jacob pleasant and has fun with the alliance forged with Newt, Theseu and the others in their mission given by Dumbledore.

TESEU SCAMANDER, younger brother of Newt Scamander, is Auror Head of the Department of Aurores of the British Ministry of Magic. Renowned war hero, Theseu is always concerned about his younger brother, who usually gets into trouble with the Ministry, putting Theseu in an embarrassing position. But now, he sees that times have changed and Newt has become a leader, fighting for more than his creatures, and Theseu couldn’t be more proud to follow him.

BUNTY BROADACRE is the loyal assistant to Newt Scamander, who typically spends most of her days taking care of Newt Scamander’s collection, including trying to fight with young and taken-away pelucios. In love with Newt for a long time, he never realized it, but values her enormously. Stepping out of his role as an assistant, Bunty receives an important role in Dumbledore’s plot – one that neither Newt knows.

ABERFORTH is the rude younger brother of Albus Dumbledore, from whom he clearly holds some resentment, largely connected to the fate of his beloved sister. Aryan. Aberforth is the owner of the Boar’s Head at Hogsmead, and despite his strained relationship with Target, he allows the bar to become a clandestine meeting place for his brother’s compatriots.

YUSUF KAMA is an elegant Franco-African wizard who meets Newt in Paris when Kama was looking for Credence. Leta Lestrange’s half-brother Kama blames Grindelwald for his fiery death, giving him a personal reason for wanting to defeat him.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore has the return of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Jude Law as the young teacher Albus Dumbledore, alongside Ezra Miller (Credence/Aurelio Dumbledore), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein).

The film will also have the return of Jessica Williams as Eulalie ‘Lally’ Hicks, teacher of ilvermorny’s School of Witchcraft and Witchcraft and the debut of Mads Mikkelsen in the fantastic beasts series as the villain Gerardo Grindelwald.

The Secrets of Dumbledore also has the participation of Maria Fernanda Cândido and Dave Wong as Vicência Santos and Dave Wong, candidates for the position of Supreme Wizard of the International Confederation of Wizards.

Written by J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is directed by David Yates and features production by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Tim Lewis. The film hits the theatres on April 14, 2021.
