Harry Potter gets 3rd themed park at Universal Orlando

The Harry Potter series is preparing to gain a third themed area in Universal Orlando parks. The Wizarding of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic will be set in the company’s newest park: Epic Universe.

The new themed area will be based on the British Ministry of Magic, as first seen in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Place Cachée, the magical 1920s Paris seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Opening date

Scheduled to open in 2025, the attractions and details of the themed area are still kept secret beyond the portal marked by the Elder Wand, but it is already known that Celestial Park – the central area of the park – will also take visitors to worlds such as Super Nintendo World, the Island of Berk, How to Train Your Dragon and the Dark Universe.

Harry Potter parks in the world

The first themed area of the Harry Potter series was inaugurated in June 2010 at the Islands of Adventure Park. Later, it was renamed The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Hogsmeade. The area replicates the magical village, including Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

In June 2014, Universal Studios Florida won The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Diagon Alley. This attraction transports guests to London’s wizarding downtown movement and includes thrilling rides like the Harry Potter roller coaster and the Escape from Gringotts.

Other Harry Potter theme parks can be found in different parts of the world. In Los Angeles, Universal Studios Hollywood opened its version of Hogsmeade in April 2016. In Japan, Universal Studios Japan in Osaka opened its Harry Potter area in July 2014.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been present in China since September 2021, and it also has its own version of Hogsmeade.

More information should be revealed soon. Constant vigilance!
