Fantastic Beasts: the Crimes of Grindelwald is nominated to two BAFTAs
by Rodrigo CavalheiroFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was nominated to the Best Art Direction and Best Special Effects categories at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
In the Best Art Direction category, the movie was nominated along with Roma and Mary Poppins Returns and at the Best Special Effects category it competes with Ready Player One, Black Panther, First Man and The Avengers: Infinite War.
The Wizarding World movies were nominated more than 30 times to the BAFTAS, including Best British Film for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Among the winning categories are, Best Art Direction for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Best Special Effects for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – part II. Besides that, in 2011 the series got a special award for its “illustrious collaboration to the British cinema.”
The 72nd BAFTA ceremony will happen in February 2019, in London.
