J.K. Rowling announces Sleep Tight, Evangeline, the ninth Cormoran Strike novel
by Marcelo NevesFans had barely digested the last case and another is already on the way. On Friday (13), J.K. Rowling announced Sleep Tight, Evangeline, the ninth book in the Cormoran Strike crime series she writes as Robert Galbraith.
The reveal came on X, after Rowling met a group of Strike fans in person and told them the title first-hand. “having just met @CormStrikeFan and friends in person at last and told them the title of Strike #9, it seems right to tell you too… Sleep Tight, Evangeline”, the author wrote.
The announcement came only months after The Hallmarked Man, the eighth in the series, which arrived in September 2025. For a series of doorstoppers, the pace is surprisingly brisk.
The news also sets off an alarm for fans: Rowling has said she means to end Strike at the tenth book. So the ninth volume puts us one step from the close of the detective’s journey and that of his partner, Robin Ellacott.
Plot details are scarce for now. What we have is a title and the promise of another big mystery. Anyone yet to start has a fine run ahead.
