Radcliffe, Watson and Grint will reunite in special 20-year Harry Potter

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film’s release Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the streaming service HBOMax will bring together the trio Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in their first public appearance in more than 10 years for a special, entitled Harry Potter 20 years: Back to Hogwarts.

The trio will meet with director Chris Columbus, responsible for the cast of actors and the direction of the first two films in the series on January 1, 2022.

In addition to the protagonists and the director, actors Helena Bonham Carter (Belatriz), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), Gary Oldman (Sirius), Imelda Staunton (Umbridge), Tom Felton (Draco), James Phelps (Fred), Oliver Phelps (Jorge), Mark Williams (Arthur), Bonnie Wright (Gina), Alfred Enoch (Dino), Matthew Lewis (Neville) and Evanna Lynch (Luna) also had their participations confirmed for a conversation about the permanent and immeasurable impact of the Harry Potter series’ legacy on fans all over the world.

In addition to the appearances of the actors, the special also promises unpublished videos of the production of films, deep interviews, special guests and “special surprises”.

The whole special was filmed at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, a visitation experience created so that fans could get to know the sets of the films up close at Leavesden Studios, where the 11 wizarding world films were recorded.

In addition to airing on HBOMax, the special will also air, at least in the United States, on TBS, before the premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,which takes place on April 14, 2022.

The first preview of the special will air on November 28, at the premiere of the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of the Housesquiz show, where four teams – one for each Hogwarts home – will compete for Wizardworld awards under helen mirren.

Directed by Chris Columbus and adapted from the first book in the J.K. Rowling series by Steve Kloves, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone premiered in Brazilian theaters on November 23, 2021, a week after its release in the United States and England.

With box office on its original release of $974,755,371 (about $5,354,806,933 at the current price), the film was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Soundtrack, Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction.
