Meet the third cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London

To celebrate the premiere of the third cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play, Pottermore released the first pictures of Potter, Granger-Weasley and Malfoy families. The new cast started their presentations last Wednesday, 23.

Jamie Ballard is the third actor to portray Harry Potter in the theater, succeeding Jamie Parker and Jamie Glover. The actor has already took part in TV shows like Penny Dreadful and Ripper Street, as well as performed on theatral productions such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Joe Idris-Roberts came into the limelight on the theatral scene after being in the cast of Pinocchio at the National Theatre, portraying the wooden boy. Susie Trayling was in productions like A Doll’s House and The Seagull, besides the TV shows Killing Eve, Will and The White Princess.

Nicola Alexis and Helen Aluko are in the cast of Cursed Child since its premiere, in 2016. Both have started as eventual understudies of Hermione and Rose, respectively, and now they’ve gotten the permanent holes. Thomas Aldridge was cast to portray Ron in the second year of the play and is going to replay the hole.

James Howard, who plays Draco Malfoy, has also been in the cast since its premiere as understudy of the hole in the first year. Jonathan Case studied at London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, where he participated in productions such as Lord of the Flies and Hamlet.
