Six Harry Potter books are on the top 10 most read books in England this summer

The books from the Harry Potter series are among the 15th most read books during the British summer, according to the market research company OnePoll. The survey, requested by eBay, was done with about two thousand adults.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone is in the thirds place, behind The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, part of Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S Lewis, and The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown.

After that, the books written by J.K. Rowling are interrupted only by Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, and 1984, by George Orwell.

Despite not having any book on the list, the writer Stephen King (It) was chosen by 24% of the interviewed as the best author. On the second place was Charles Dickens (Christmas Carol), with 18%.

Also according to the survey, each British has, on average, ten books on the to-be-read list. However, 42 % of the interviewed audience declared to consider themselves too busy to read as much as they would like to.
