Startup launches Harry Potter inspired kit to teach kids programming

Kano, a startup known for producing “build-it-yourself” coding kits, announced the launch of a kit inspired by Harry Potter series, in partnership with Warner Bros. It’s expected to be released in October and its goal is to teach software programming, but with a magical touch: it comes along a wand, which the user must assemble.

The gadget is connected to a computer, smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and responds to hand movements, allowing the user to recreate spells seen in the series, like Wingardium Leviosa. Then, the user must go through several challenges, all of them inspired by the series, but focused on teaching programming language such as JavaScript.

The product should hit the market for $99.99.
