“Leta Lestrange was misunderstood”, Zoë Kravitz says

Actress Zoë Kravitz, who portrays Leta Lestrange in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, revealed details about her character in an interview to Entertainment Tonight portal.

“She’s not just a bad girl, she’s just had a really complicated past and been misunderstood,” she said. “I think the Lestranges as a family are just misunderstood people, so it was a really wonderful thing to get to delve into that. And it’s going to be incredible.”

Although she appeared only in a photograph in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Leta Lestrange comes back in The Crimes of Grindelwald as Theseus Scamander’s fiancé.

The interview was granted during the premiere of Gemini, movie starred by Zoë which premiered on March 30th. The actress is also participating in season two of Big Little Lies.

Written by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald expands on an increasingly dark time in the Wizarding World. After Gellert Grindelwald makes a dramatic escape from MACUSA, professor Albus Dumbledore requests the help of Newt Scamander to stop him. The movie is once again starred by Eddie Redmayne (Newt), Katherine Waterston (Tina), Alison Sudol (Queenie) and Dan Fogler (Jacob). Apart from Ezra Miller’s return as Credence, Johnny Depp is also back into the cast as Gellert Grindelwald, antagonizing Jude Law as professor Dumbledore. The film premieres on November 16th, 2018.
