Broadway theatre is renovated to host Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child social media revealed pictures of the interior of the Lyric Theatre on Broadway, which was renovated especially for the performances of the eighth Harry Potter story in the United States. Among the changes, the removal of 400 seats and the advance of the back wall, making the theatre more intimate. The entrance has also gone through alterations, moving to 43rd street, where there are no other theatres.

The New Yorker production officially premieres on April 22nd, but the previews have already started on Friday, March 16th. Until the publishing of this piece, there are tickets available for the shows which are taking place between March 20th and April 8th – purchasable on the official website. Beyond these dates, the tickets are sold out until March of 2019.

Returning to the main roles are Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy), Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger), Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley), Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter) e Alex Price (Draco Malfoy).

Besides New York, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is playing at Palace Theatre, in London, since July 2016 and is preparing to open at Princess Theatre, in Melbourne, Australia, in early 2019.
