Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Eddie Redmayne reveals which animals will be back in The Crimes of Grindelwald

On a interview to Entertainment Weekly, Eddie Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander, and David Heyman, producer of the serie Fantastic Beasts, revealed which will be the creatures’ role in the sequel The Crimes of Grindelwald.

“There are as many beasts in the film as in the first,”, explained Heyman. “But the main driver in the first film was finding the beasts. That’s not the driver in this film, it’s not a central part of the plot. But beasts feature in the film and feature strongly.”, he revealed.

In addition, Redmayne said that Niffler and Pickett will also be back causing havoc. “There’s a Chinese creature that’s formidable,”, revealed the actor without giving out many details.

Written by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald premiers in November 16th, 2018. The sequel takes place in New York, London and Paris, with references to the Harry Potter stories. A few months after being captured, Grindelwald escapes dramatically from MACUSA and conquers followers to his witch supremacy cause. With help from the magizoologist Newt Scamander, the only wizard capable of stopping him is Albus Dumbledore, a Hogwarts professor. In a darker era of the Wizarding World, the characters will face dangers to test their loyalty.
