BBC’s “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” gets trailer and exhibition date

BBC Two, that announced a documentary to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, revealed that Harry Potter: A History of Magic will be broadcast on October 28th of 2017. The BBC also took advantage of the opportunity to release the trailer for the special, which will show details of the British Library’s namesake exhibition in London, as well as a new interview with J.K. Rowling.

The exhibition, which is set to open on October 20th, will feature never-seen-before manuscripts, annotated sketches, and drafts from Rowling’s private archives, exhibited along magical objects from the British Library, as well as unreleased paintings and sketches by Jim Kay,artist responsible for the illustrated version of the books. In interview, J.K. Rowling will speak about the items she lent and the displayed objects, part of the folklore that inspired the author to create the world of Harry Potter.

The documentary will also give us a glimpse of modern magic, with Quidditch players and real-life wand makers, besides interviews with other personalities related to the series.
