Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

New Character Confirmed in The “Fantastic Beasts” Sequel

Variety and Pottermore confirmed that Newt Scamander’s older brother, Theseus Scamander, described in the first film as a famous war hero recognised by the International Confederation of Wizards will appear on the second film of the franchise. The British actor Callum Turner is negotiating to bring the character to life.

Callum participated in many projects on TV, theatre and cinema, his most recent work being the movie Mobile Homes. His resume also includes many works with actors from Harry Potter, such as Helen McRory in Leaving, Daniel Radcliffe in Victor Frankenstein, Jessie Cave in Glue (TV series), written by Jack Throne, and Jim Broadbent in War & Peace.

Even though his career started recently, Callum already received a BAFTA as a “Breakthrough Brit”, an award given to 18 nominees, offered as a way to recognise and develop talents and careers for new stars on the film, TV and game industry.

The sequel for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them still doesn’t have a title but it will take us to the darkest moment of the wizarding world history, where Newt and his friends must decide their alliances. Written by J.K. Rowling and starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol, the film will be directed by David Yates and premieres on November 17th of 2018.
