[borda1]http://cdn.potterish.com/wp-content/2016/05/31062155/Fam%C3%ADlia_Potter_Cursed_Child_Borda1.jpg[meio]John Tiffany, director of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, revealed that will announce soon the next group of actors who will star on the play in London. There is a chance the main stars Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni and Paul Thornley, who play Harry, Hermione and Rony, won’t be in the play anymore.

The original West End cast’s contracts end this May, with the possibility to renewal and continuations in the roles. Parker, Dumezweni and Thornley will have priority play Harry, Hermione, and Ron again in New York City if they so chose to, according to Tiffany.

The play is expected to debut in the United States on Fall 2018. The auditions for the new cast will happen until the end of this month, and the director expects the cast to be a mixture of British and American actors.

During interview to Time Out, John talked about the commotion when they chose Dumezweni, a black actor, to play Hermione:

People still say to me, “why did she change from a white woman to a black woman?” and I say “she didn’t really change, it’s just that the films chose to cast a white woman not a black woman”. There was stuff being tweeted directly at Noma like “does Hermione have to go offstage between scenes and eat bananas?”, and because she was tagged in we were able to do something about that. But I felt very responsible. Those comments that always start with “I’m not racist, but…”, what they’re basically saying is “I can’t see a black person as the heroine of my story”.’

When asked how difficult would be to redo the play cast, John said that everything is almost done. He said he had to work hard, but good actors are interested in being part of the play and he knows their abilities are essential for the play’s success.
