Eddie Redmayne auditioned for a part in “Harry Potter”

The actor Eddie Redmayne revealed to the Empire magazine that he already had auditioned for the Harry Potter universe before getting the part of Newt Scamander in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them“.

I actually auditioned to play Tom Riddle while I was at university. I properly failed and didn’t get a callbackOver the years, I always hoped I might be cast as a member of the Weasley familyI’m color blind, but I’ve always been told there’s a tinge of red to my hairbut unfortunately not.

Even though he waited for years, Eddie didn’t even get an audition for the Weasley part, according to an interview to the US Magazine.

There was a whole ginger family, and I never got an audition. And I was like, ‘Come on, it’s outrageous!’ So I was desperate. Every actor in England was in the Harry Potter films, but I never got the call. Now I’m having my moment.

In the article published by Empire, David Yates – director for the last four “Harry Potter” films and for “Fantastic Beasts” – also revealed that an important character from this new Wizarding World adventure will return on the next film. According to Yates, such character will appear along with the four main heroes, who appear to be confirmed for the sequel.

There is a character who we meet in this movie, but who will come to the fore much more in the second [film]. One of the scariest aspects he has is this amazing ability to seduce with his ideas.

Could the director be talking about the character played by Colin Farrell, the mysterious Percival Graves, or is he referring to another character who will remain on the new Wizarding World franchise? Leave your thoughts in the comments session!

Directed by David Yates and written by J.K. Rowling, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” premieres in 3D and IMAX on November 18th.
